What Are We Looking For

We are looking for an energetic Designer who will assist in design assets for web, keep a consistent visual design language, and offer suggestions on how we can do better. This is an opportunity for you to use your high capacity for rapid learning and meticulous attention to detail, to make our Digital Marketing team even better. Work along side other creative people to help implement the best web designs that help drive leads. Brainstorm and propose, design creative, UI, and other web tools to make websites better. Help design the UI architecture, interface, interaction workflows, wireframes, and mockups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas. Support UX leads/managers in creation of wireframes, high fidelity mockups production art assets.

What skills do you need?
You need to be well organized with alot of energy and be able to manage teams of designers. You must me able to communicated site changes with design team, and be able to communicate with other departments.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years relevant UX/UI design experience
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present to all levels within an organization.
  • Up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies.
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
  • Has an understanding of web technologies — HTML/CSS/JS, it’s important to know how the pieces fit together and what is/isn’t possible.
  • Collaborates well with team members and looks forward to feedback.
  • Design Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Understand WordPress inside and out.

Content Writer

MediaSmack is expanding its marketing team! We are looking for a writer who can develop informative, engaging, well-researched content for our clients’ websites. Our clients are primarily law firms, so the ability to research, read and absorb legal information and then translate this technical language into plain English is a must.

About MediaSmack:

We are a full-service online marketing firm known producing engaging content, boosting standings on Google, and creating a tailored social media presence for each of our clients. We specialize in creating beautiful, compelling websites and marketing strategies for businesses that range from start-ups to large companies. Our primary goal is to produce measurable results (that’s potential cases ringing our clients’ phones) that give our clients the peace of mind that they’re getting the best return on their investment.

About you:

  • You have a B.A. in English or similar degree, or equivalent writing experience.
  • You have an aptitude for writing and proofreading. Bonus points if you’ve ever been called a “grammar nerd.”
  • You’re a master Googler with excellent research and fact-checking skills.
  • You can adapt your writing style to suit each client’s unique tone, like a writing chameleon.
  • You’re able to take criticism. No, you welcome it. No, you love it.
  • You’re attention to detail is borderline superhuman.
  • You caught the error in the previous point.
  • You’re a self-motivator who is comfortable working from home.
  • You don’t have to have prior experience with WordPress or SEO, but it’d be a lot cooler if you did.

About your responsibilities as a Content Writer for MediaSmack:

  • Attend training via video conferencing on SEO best practices, content writing, in-house style standards, WordPress etc.
  • Write approx. 50 pages of content a month, 850 – 1000 words, on legal topics for clients.
  • Make requested edits and alterations to written content.
  • Proofread and edit content from other writers on an as-needed basis.
  • Write press releases (300 – 350 words) on an as-needed basis.
  • Work with our SEO Team to improve user experience for clients’ websites.

As a writer, your responsibilities would include:

  • Attending training via video conferencing on the blogging process, WordPress, some SEO knowhow, etc.
  • Researching topics and writing blogs about legal topics (as many as 70 each month at approx. 300 words each).
  • Posting blogs and content on clients’ sites through WordPress.
  • Creating short social media posts relevant to your assigned clients.
  • Publishing guest blogs on third-party sites.
  • Helping to monitor client sites and social media accounts for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Making requested changes and edits to existing content.

This is a full-time position; candidates must have the ability to work remotely and telecommute for meetings and training. Compensation is hourly.
