Why Is Digital Marketing Important in 2021?

Now more than ever, digital marketing is not only needed, but being used more and more every day. Over the last year and a half, the world has gone through a pandemic, which ended up grounding the population and confining us to our homes. When that happened, people were no longer in their cars driving by billboards daily and the amount of time people spent on their computers, phones and internet increased. Companies had to start changing the way they thought about digital marketing and coming up with new strategies.

What Goes Into a Digital Marketing Campaign?

If you have a website and are ready to start your digital marketing journey, then it’s most likely because you are wanting to improve your company’s visibility. If you want potential clients to be able to find you online, you need to make sure you are taking all the right steps. Below, I discuss the basics to consider for your digital marketing campaign.

With your website, you want to make sure it will draw the attention of your target customer. For example, on the website that we build for law firms, we always suggest having the phone number and “free consultation” (if applicable) at the top of the site. However, if you are a retail shop, then maybe you want to mention your latest. You also want to make sure the site is responsive, meaning that it will automatically fit on your screen correctly whether you are on a computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Search Engine Optimization

To get customers to notice your site, you want to invest in search engine optimization (SEO) to get your website ranking higher organically. There is so much that goes into SEO. It’s not just about the words you write on your content page or blog, but you have to continuously check your resources by making sure you are using the correct keywords by using items such as Google Trends and Google Analytics. You also have to consider factors like your website’s meta tags and offsite presence through business listings.

Social Media

Along with SEO, you want to make sure you have a presence on social media so you can keep your audience up to date in real time along with interacting with them. Not only that, but you can hone in on the audience you want to reach through paid ads on social sites but you can also do pay-per-click (PPC) ads on search engines such as Google.

The above information is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the importance of having an online presence, which is more important now than ever before. Once you have an online presence, it’s all about analyzing what you have done to see what is working and isn’t working and doing A/B testing. Just make sure to continue your effort and have patience. All your marketing efforts don’t just happen overnight. It takes time and that’s why we are here to help you through it all.
